Priorities for Redruth North

My priorities focus on practical improvements people will notice in everyday life in Redruth.

Across the town there are residents, volunteers and community groups already working hard to make things happen. The Town Council should support this energy and work constructively with the people helping Redruth move forward.

Redruth should feel active and welcoming, with clear reasons for people to spend time in the town.

That means:

  • supporting community events that bring people together
  • encouraging creative and temporary uses for empty shops and spaces
  • backing independent traders and new businesses in the town centre

Small changes can make the town feel more vibrant and give people more reasons to visit, shop and take part in local life.

People should feel comfortable using our town centre, parks and public spaces.

The council should:

  • push for practical improvements like better lighting and maintenance in ope-ways
  • work constructively with the police and Cornwall Council to follow up anti-social behaviour issues
  • support positive activities and opportunities for young people in Redruth

Visible improvements help people feel more confident about spending time in town.

Many residents aren’t sure:

  • what the Town Council is responsible for
  • how to raise problems or concerns
  • how issues are followed up

I want to see clearer communication, better signposting to services, and better updates when residents report problems.

People should feel they know how to contact their councillors and what the council is doing on their behalf.
